Dear Merchistonians and Friends
What a fantastic turn out at this morning's Business Breakfast! Graeme Crossley (95-99) gave us a fascinating insight into search engine optimisation. Take a look at some photos here. If you want to know more get in touch with me.
We will be taking a short break from Business Breakfasts over the festive period but keep an eye out for an update at the start of the year.
Thanks to everyone that came along to the London Drinks on Monday evening and of course to Michael Ferndale (86-82) for organising the event. It was great to hear that there was mix of Merchistonians from across the years, and lots of new faces.
I hope to see some of you at tomorrow's Rugby Supporters' Lunch, let's hope Jack Frost does not scupper the plans!
Merchistonians in the Spotlight
Congratulations to Hamish Martin (79-86) and his partner Liberty, from 'The Secret Herb Garden', who received the award for 'Best Informal Eating Experience' at the Regional Scottish Thistle Awards.
If you would like to submit a nomination for the Merchistonian Award 2017, please do so by February 2017. You can find more information and the nomination form here.
Well done to Tom Diggle (08-16) who has been providing support to the pupils of Cargilfield Shooting Club.
Paul Sukhum (76-80) and Pongsakorn Thiengtham (77-80) enjoyed meeting the Headmaster and Mrs Hunter in Bangkok this week. Paul and Pongsakorn are keen to stay connected with Merchistonians when they travel to the UK and to welcome old friends to Thailand.
You can read more about Paul and Pongsakorn's business venture 'Castle Partners Co. Ltd' (website currently under construction) and get in touch with them here.
Good luck to Patrick Kelly (10-14) who may just make his first competitive Warriors appearance tomorrow.
