Many of you will remember Connor Hughes (07-12) but if not, you can read his journey here. He is the most remarkable young man and he wants to give something back for all the support he has received. Connor is therefore competing in the E'tape Caledonia race...81 miles in the wheelchair category. He is racing to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Charity. The Leavers v Staff Touch Rugby was great fun on Wednesday. Staff won 8-5, and the spectators thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Ruaridh Campbell (09-16) who came to officiate.

Merchiston Castle trio praised
Pupils Cameron A, Lyle M and Papon S earned pass marks from Director of Golf, Alan Murdoch for their performance in the Independent Schools Golf Association's National Final in Kent. They finished 12 out of 20 schools after winning the Scottish Area event. Read more here.
Further congratulations to Cameron A, who finished runner-up at the Scottish National U14 Championships, just losing out by one shot for the coveted individual National title. With fabulous rounds of 72 and 73, he again showed the super form he has been in all year. He should be extremely proud of his latest achievements.

Debbie Marshall, School Nurse, was the lucky winner of the Eastern Western Merchiston Sevens raffle and had a BMW I8 for the whole weekend.
We have a busy week of events ahead with the Merchistonian cricket and rugby teams playing the School and the intake of '60 reunion visiting on Saturday; for those participating I hope you have a great time and I look forward to seeing you at Merchiston.
