"Lest We Forget - Merchistonian News"

Dear Merchistonians and Friends

This weekend sees a full schedule of events with the Merchistonian Annual Dinner, Class of '08 Reunion, Napier Remembrance Service, Scotland Rugby v Fiji and on Sunday the Remembrance Service with a Parade of 100 Pipers and Drummers.

Welcoming back the Class of 2008

Kit Abram (03-08) and Russel Weir (02-08) have been busy organising the 10 year reunion for the Class of '08 and we're delighted to invite them back to Merchiston tomorrow.

They'll arrive for the rugby fixtures against George Watson's followed by a tour of the School, before they head off to Tigerlily for dinner and celebrations.

Merchistonian Annual Dinner

Tonight is the night! We celebrate all things Merchistonian at our annual dinner with food, drink and of course great company.

Starting out at Indigo Yard before heading on to La P'tite Folie where the Merchistonian Award will also be presented.

2018 Remembrance Service

On Sunday we will hold a Remembrance Service followed by a parade of 100 Pipers and Drummers to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War 1.

Merchiston 'Fun Weekend'

The School's 'Fun Weekend' is an excellent opportunity for boys to get a taste of School life and to meet current and prospective pupils of similar ages.

The weekend offers two options to experience Merchiston: a Fun Day, for boys who are considering a day place at Merchiston or a Fun Sleepover, for boys who are considering boarding. For younger boys (aged 6-9 years) the morning will include sporting activities, arts and crafts, and a magic show.  For older boys (aged 10-12 years) there is the opportunity to join classes with current pupils.

For more details click here or contact, Megan White, External Relations Assistant on 0131 312 2236.

An Evening with Gabby Logan

On Thursday 22 November, St George's School for Girls welcomes Gabby Logan to talk about her journey from an international gymnast to one of today's top presenters for the BBC and ITV. This event is proudly supporting Doddie Weir's Trust, 'My Name'5 Doddie Foundation'.
