Merchistonians v Watsonians - Rugby

A group of Merchistonians took on Watsonians last week and in the words of PK Young (77-82) "It all went to plan, with most matches being good competitive contests and all of them played in good spirit, unlike some of the league matches some of us have experienced over the years."

Andy Duff (76-79) added that plans are underway for a return fixture in the New Year.

Merchiston International School (MIS) in Shenzhen

Thanks to Andrew Law (09-13) for popping in to the opening ceremony for MIS in Shenzhen. Andrew has been living and working in Guangzhou since September after graduating from Durham this summer.

He is pictured here meeting former Headmaster Andrew Hunter.

Congratulations - 60 years

Congratulations to Jeanette and Graham McConnochie (46-50) who celebrate their Diamond wedding anniversary this month.

Andrew White (11-16) has been in touch on behalf of the Bethany Christian Trust with this project.

• Trees are sustainably and ethically grown
• Nordman Fir trees
• Starting from only £35
• 100% of proceeds go towards Bethany's winter projects

Purchasing a Caring Christmas Tree could help save a life this Christmas. For more information visit www.caringchristmastrees.com or email info@caringchristmastrees.com

Merchiston 'Fun Weekend'

The School's 'Fun Weekend' is an excellent opportunity for boys to get a taste of School life and to meet current and prospective pupils of similar ages.

The weekend offers two options to experience Merchiston: a Fun Day (for boys who are considering a day place at Merchiston) or a Fun Sleepover (for boys who are considering boarding). For younger boys (aged 6-9 years) the morning will include sporting activities, arts and crafts, and a magic show.  For older boys (aged 10-12 years) there is the opportunity to join classes with current pupils.

For more details click here or contact, Megan White, External Relations Assistant on 0131 312 2236.

That's all for this week's newsletter.

As always, we hope you have enjoyed reading and if you have any stories of your own, please do get in touch!

Best wishes
