Dear Merchistonians and Friends
Thank you for your words of welcome following my first newsletter last week. I have already enjoyed meeting several Merchistonians this week and I am looking forward to getting to know many more.
We were delighted to welcome back to School the Desson
family, Graham (60-64), his son Andrew (87-93), Greg (58-63) and their respective families who met with the Headmaster to present a bench to the School dedicated to Graham and Greg's parents. Picture
Supporting the School is clearly in the air, for the boys in Pringle were the recipients of a new pool table from a very generous but anonymous Merchistonian donor. Additional thanks go to DJ (Dougie) Brown (75-80)
made it all possible by lending a large van to transport the table to the School. Thank you to all!
Safely back home from the North Pole Andrew Walker (01-06), has posted an inspiring
video of the team's exploits.
Time to pull on the cricket whites - it is bound to be warmer soon!Mike Legget (97-04)
is looking for players available to take part in the Merchistonians T20 cricket match v the School at 5.30 pm on Friday 22 May
. Pleaseemail Mike
if you would like to join in.
Today we have enjoyed a Nepalese lunch to raise funds in support of our Merchiston staff whose families have been affected by events in Nepal. For those who remember BP, we heard from his
niece Cati Ramsay, currently working in Nepal, of the devastation wrought in the country by the recent earthquakes. Link
