Mick Gerrard (89-93) starts up his own business
"I have recently co-founded a new SaaS business providing board portal software to the Not-for-profit and SME markets around the globe. Our cloud software guides users through their respective governance and compliance obligations whilst automating parts of the process.
We are still in the startup phase yet do white label to partners in Canada plus we are seeking partners and customers in the UK.

The startup world is a fascinating one globally yet Australia is seeing significant support and activity around startups with some great businesses emerging. We are in fund raising mode expecting an exit for investors in around 5-8 years but until then, we're talking with boards and committees who can't afford the price of the major board portal platforms, yet need to mitigate risk and improve governance and compliance.

I work from home which allows me flexibility to spend time with my family and this makes a huge difference to how we function as a family. It also means my children are very much part of our business journey and are always asking lots of questions and learning.

The startup journey is a roller coaster and not one I imagined I'd embark on in my 40s, yet nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.

You can trial or take a look at what we do here processpa.com. I'd love to connect up with any other Merchistonians working in the SaaS or startup space around the globe to so please reach out via our website or find me on LinkedIn."
Process PA is cloud-based software that automates association procedures and paperwork, saving committee members from administration time. New office bearers are guided through their role and compliance requirements through simple yet effective handovers, ensuring committee processes are maintained.
