Golf Autumn Meeting
The Golf Club gathered for its annual autumn meeting at Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society in August and with over 30 attendees it was a great event. Golf Secretary Bob Forman (89-94) provided the report:The weather was very kind to us and the course was in fine condition considering all the changes that it has been going through.As usual there were various winners of a number of prizes. However, the main prizes were won as follows:-The silver medal for the handicap prize was won by Neil Armstrong with a net 64 and in second place was Chris Dudar with a net 66.The under 30's scratch was won by Freddie Ward with a 70 and in second place was Pete Legget with a 79.The over 50's scratch was won by Chris Cowan with a 72 and the runner up was Graeme Dickie with a 77.The over 60's scratch was won by George Walker with an 85 and the runner up was Morison Zuill with an 87.Of most importance was the club championship gold medal and that was won for a 5th year running by Mike Rolland with a 67 gross; the runner up was Freddie Ward with a gross 70. All in all it was a fantastic day as usual and many thanks to Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society for giving us the courtesy of their course and also for their hospitality and the catering at lunchtime and with dinner.As ever should you wish to be involved then please do not hesitate to contact the Secretary.
