"A Christmas Proposal..."

Dear Merchistonians and Friends

With the New Year approaching we are busy putting the finishing touches to your annual Club magazine and hope that you are all looking forward to it landing on your doormat over the Christmas holidays!

Christmas is just around the corner…

Andrew Haddow (60-65), who captained the Golf Team at School, and went on to caddy on the US PGA Tour for Arnold Palmer three months after leaving School, has again offered half the profit of his DVD, to MCS Golf Academy. Perhaps a Christmas present for the golfing fan in your family? For more information, click here.

As previously highlighted, Stuart Riddell (76-81) is organising a ceilidh to raise funds for the Maggie's Centre in Edinburgh and a number of Merchistonians have been asking about making a donation. To do so, please click here. There are also still spaces available for the event on Sat 17 Dec and if you'd like to go please contact Stuart on 07510 260212

If you are about to start your Christmas shopping on-line, you can also help the School fundraise. We have teamed up with on-line portal easyfundraising.org.uk. Click through to your chosen retailer and they will make a donation to us at no extra cost to you. Thank you in anticipation.

Today the charity will return to register anyone who wishes to become a donor. I look forward to welcoming Sandy's mother Fiona and brother Euan (06-15) back to School this afternoon.

For anyone wishing to attend the pre-Calcutta Cup meal on 10 March 2017 please get in touch to note your interest.

If you would like to submit a nomination for the Merchistonian Award 2017, you must do so by 29 February with a supporting testimony.

For those who need to keep youngsters entertained, the 2017 Easter Multi-Sports Camp is live!  To find out more and book your child a spot, click here.

to Oli Green (99-07) who after six years of being with partner Elaine popped the question in New York last weekend.  I am sure there will be a strong Merchistonian presence at your wedding!

Oli and Elaine

Have a great weekend
