Dear Merchistonians and Friends
It was a great surprise to see Hugh Drummond (53-58) and his family today. Hugh now lives in Canada and has returned to Edinburgh to visit friends. I enjoyed listening to Hugh reminisce about his time at Merchiston, especially hearing about how the boys used to learn to ski on the slopes next to the Athletics Arena.

Saturday 3 June sees the Academicals v Merchistonian match. There will be a pre-match lunch served from 1pm at Raeburn Place. I am delighted to say that we now have a team up and running in the Newcastle area. James Angus (81-85), John Bruce (76-81) and Andrew Taylor (98-03) are helping to organise a Merchistonian Drinks event in Newcastle on Friday 13 October. We are looking to revive the North v South golf match during the day. If you are interested in joining the golf, drinks or both, find out more and register your interest here.
This year we will be holding two Rugby Supporters' Breakfasts; Saturday 16 September and Saturday 2 December when the pupils will play Dollar and Watsons. Again, please contact me to reserve your breakfast seats.
