Six Nations Update

A short update as this week the focus has been mainly on the Six Nation rugby tickets.

Away matches - We have now received all away tickets. If you have not yet paid postage and confirmed your address please click here for details.

Home matches - All tickets for the France and England matches should have now been received via email directly from the SRU.

Great to see Dan Gamble (16-19), Matthew Currie (12-19) and Rufus McLean (08-18) are all selected for the Scotland U20's training squad for the Six Nations and that Fraser Brown (01-07) and Magnus Bradbury (11-13) have been selected for the senior team.

'The Witcher'

Ross Telfer (07-13) went on to read History at the University of York, after graduating in 2016 Ross went on to Drama School in North London at 'Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts', studying a Masters in 'Performance', to pursue his more unpredictable dream of becoming an actor.

"Since graduating from my MA in 2017, I have slowly been collecting acting credits for my CV, most recently performing in the Kenton Theatre Pantomime 'Sleeping Beauty', as the role of the 'Jester', in Henley-on-Thames. Furthermore, I recently had my screen debut in December, appearing in Episode 4 of the new Netflix Original series 'The Witcher' in the role of 'Draig Bon Dhu'. My small part was largely thanks to my days of learning the Pipes at Merchiston, as my character is a Bagpipe-wielding-Bard, according to the original novel source material. It was an incredible experience, filming out in Budapest for two and a half weeks last January and was very grateful for the opportunity to learn so much on set. If any at Merchiston want to catch glimpse of my quick scene on the small screen, it's now streaming on Netflix!"

First Match of the Year

It was heartening to see brothers Rory (UVI) and Benn Morris (09-16) representing Gibraltar Rugby Under 23s v Jamaica on 4 January - they appeared on the pitch together in what was the first international match for 2020, in the world!

You can watch Benn's newsworthy cross-field kick here. Well done Benn and Rory!

A Good Week for Magnus

"Oban's international back-row Magnus Bradbury (11-13) has become the latest player to commit his future to Edinburgh Rugby after putting pen-to-paper on a new deal today. Bradbury, 24, has been a stalwart for the capital club since breaking into the first XV as a teenager and now re-signs following a stellar year that saw him establish himself as a Scotland starter at the Rugby World Cup in Japan...."
