Dear ^Name.Title^ ^Name.LastName^ ,
Our annual Whole School Harvest Thanksgiving
Service will take place on Sunday 06 October, starting at
10.00am.
Merchistonians
are also warmly invited to attend and there will be refreshments in the Old
Library afterwards. Parking will be in the Rogerson and Chalmers Quads and on
the Main Drive, and any overspill will be on Colinton Road.
For
those who cannot join us in person, the event will be live-streamed at the
following link: https://vimeo.com/event/4601808/80cd9a0252
As is
usual for this service, we will be taking a collection of non-perishable food
items which we will then distribute to local food banks. If you would like to
contribute to this, we would ask that you bring these with you to the service
and leave them at the entrance to the Memorial Hall. Where this is not possible,
you may bring them to the Memorial Hall no sooner than 5.00pm on Saturday 05
October. The food banks have requested, please, that no donations of pasta are
made, as they have a surfeit of this. Tinned items are preferred where
possible.
The
Service will have a focus on the fundraising and charity work undertaken by
the recent South Africa Rugby Tour in the Langa township in Cape Town. The
retiring collection will be in aid of our Langa projects, specifically the
rebuilding of three (perhaps four) family homes which were gutted by fire two
years ago and are yet to be repaired.
With thanks and best wishes, and hoping to see
many of you there on Sunday
Danny
